Panelling in a room adds both distinction and warmth. Woods for panelling need to be stable and to come in boards of a good width

CEDAR OF LEBANON colour: warm mid-brown

TULIPWOOD colour: creamy with a greenish heart (American Whitewood - especially suited to painting)

SWEET CHESTNUT colour: pale brown

AMERICAN WHITE OAK colour: white

LACEWOOD colour: pinkish to reddish-brown

ENGLISH/EUROPEAN OAK colour: biscuit through to brown

AMERICAN BLACK WALNUT colour: rich dark brown to purplish black
